Providing your bank statement

Please ensure you provide the bank statement where your income is deposited into.  If you accidentally upload the wrong bank account, please contact us and we will generate a new link for you.

To complete the assessment of your application, we require you to upload your bank statement using our trusted partner Credit Sense.  Bank statements need to be uploaded through Credit Sense via the online application form, we do not accept bank statements in any other form.

We do not keep your internet banking credentials.  Your credentials are encrypted and passed directly to your bank when you enter them.  Once the transaction history is retrieved, they are then permanently deleted.  We will retrieve 3 months of ‘read only’ electronic transactions.

Who is Credit Sense?

Credit Sense is our partner for retrieving bank statements.  An Australian-owned and operated company, with a secure banking technology that allows us electronic 'read only' access to your bank statement.  We do not have access to make any changes to your account.  Further, we will never see your internet banking logins.  For more information on Security, click here

Can I apply over the phone or email?

Unfortunately, not.  We can only accept applications through the completion of our online webform.

Who can apply?

If you are new to Sweet As Money, you can apply <<here>>.  If you have applied for a loan in the past, you may submit new applications via your SAM account, using your registered email and password to login <<here>>.

To be eligible to borrow from Sweet As Money, you will need to meet the following requirements, in conjunction with our lending criteria:

  • You must be a New Zealand or Australian citizen, or hold permanent residency;

  • You must have a NZ bank account that shows a regular income deposit;

  • You must be 20 years of age or older;

  • You must be employed and earning a minimum of $500 per week;

  • You must hold a valid NZ Driver Licence or Passport;

  • You must have your own email address, New Zealand mobile number, and online banking; and

  • You must not be in financial hardship, bankruptcy, or collections.

Please note; we are unable to see your eligibility to borrow in advance.  Your suitability to borrow will be determined based on the information you provide, the information we received from third parties, and our company lending criteria.

Do I need to provide identification?

You will be required to provide details of your Driver's Licence or Passport when you complete the application online.  This allows our electronic identification process to correctly confirm your identity.  Please ensure you enter all personal details as per the ID document you provide on your application form.

You can apply with us quickly and easily by completing our online web form <<here>>.  Please note; we only accept applications through the completion of our webform and each application will be assessed in accordance with responsible lending principles and our company lending criteria.

Do I require a guarantor?

We do not require a guarantor.  Our lending decisions are based on a careful assessment of your financial position and your capacity to repay a loan.

We have an automated system with our lending criteria built in to create a more efficient process for our customers.  The lending criteria are divided into two categories:

  1. Responsible lending principles, which are publicly available online; and

  2. Commercial lending criteria and a risk-based scoring model, which is not publicly available.

I got declined, should I re-apply?

If your application has been declined, we suggest you wait at least 60 days before re-applying, as lending criteria is subject to change.  At Sweet As Money, we will always offer you the maximum you are eligible to borrow in accordance with your financial health and our company lending criteria.

Do I need to be employed to get a loan?

To obtain credit from Sweet As Money you must be able to provide proof of ongoing, regular income and the ability to repay the loan. 

Please note, your income must be deposited into your bank account regularly.

What are SAM’s fixed costs?

Our fees are fixed.  We charge the following:

Account Setup                 $40* Once off

Establishment Fee          $45

What does SAM charge in interest?

SAM charges a flat interest rate of 35% p.a.  This is charged at an interest rate of 0.096% for each day your loan account is open.

How much can I borrow?

We lend amounts from $200 to $1,200 in $50 increments.  The amount you are eligible to borrow will be determined after a full assessment of your financial position, credit history and our company lending criteria.

How long can I borrow for?

SAM provides loans for terms from 7 to 45 days.

Can I repay my loan early?

Yes, you can repay your loan any time at no extra cost.  Please contact us and we can advise you of the exact balance to be paid.

What do I do if I can’t make payment?

As soon as you become aware you may not be able to meet the payment obligations under the loan agreement, contact us.

We understand that sometimes life just gets in the way! and we will do what we can to help you.

I don’t want to receive your marketing

If you do not wish to receive any marketing emails or SMS’s from SAM, you can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email or contacting our Client Services Team and asking them to remove you from our list.
